Our “official” seasonal craft for the week was simple acorn bell necklaces. Drill a hole in an acorn top (I used an antique manual drill of Jason’s), thread string through and glue on a bell.

We also went on our first early fall/late summer hike and found milkweed pods. It was even cool enough to be reacquainted with some of our fall clothes – Eleanore got to wear her favorite horse dress again.

We collected goldenrod for a small dyeing project.

We have a small tub of it soaking in some water in a sunny garage windowsill right now.
We were back in summer clothes yesterday though.

Some of Eleanore’s favorite things: a turkey feather we found on our weekend golf cart ride around the dirt roads, her pony belt, tie dyed dress she dyed earlier in the summer, brand new Minnetonka boots we found at a thrift store (I wish I had a pair in my size!) and her new acorn bell necklace.

It is amazing that Eleanore is rocking those boots, because her aunt has a pair just like them! Rocking it just runs in the family!

What a wonderful week! I’m very curious to know what you’re going to dye with the goldenrod.
Thanks for linking to Waldorf Wednesday!
