8. So thankful we have a freezer full of meat and other food so meal planning is easy this week! I didn’t even have to grocery shop at all this week except for snacks for our trip.
Sunday: bean burritos (beans from the freezer), roasted cauliflower
Monday: beef stew in the crockpot with carrots, garlic mashed potatoes, egg noodles
Tuesday: pineapple short ribs in the crockpot, brown rice
Wednesday: lemon and chive pesto penne, spinach

How long do beans keep frozen? Do you cook them any differently if you plan on freezing them? How do you store them to freeze?

They keep for around 6 months. I usually cook up a crockpot full using this method: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/cooking-dried-beans-in-crockpot.html and freeze in 2 c. amounts in a quart freezer bag or foodsaver bag. I love not having to buy canned beans anymore!

Thanks! I usually soak and cook for each meal which means we eat less beans than I’d like to. I’ve never cooked them in the crockpot before, I’ve always done stock pots on the stove. Thanks for the info!

I LOVE using the crockpot to cook the beans! It makes it so easy and “hands off.”
