New woolies for Eleanore

Peace fleece stripes:
Peace Fleece longies
I plan on knitting a solid blue cardigan sweater to match these. Peace fleece is a little controversial over on the diaper boards, but I love it. Some say it’s too scratchy, but I’ve found that if you wash them in the washing machine on delicate with cold water and throw them in a dryer (yes, the dryer) for a few minutes on low, they come out super soft. I just placed a big peace fleece co-op order (it’s only $4.50 a skein if you wholesale it!!!) for some sweaters and another pair of longies. I also picked up some of the natural to try and dye, as well. It’s also great for hats and mittens, so those are in the plans as well.

This pair was supposed to be for a stocking, but I had an issue with the natural trim I used, coupled with wool wash = dye bleed :( Kimi of A Twisted Stitch is replacing the yarn though and has tested the dye so we know it won’t run :yay: so I can still offer a semi-custom next month in this same colorway!
It’s her Crazy Like a Fox colorway.

Collecting Things

July 8, 2009

We like to collect things at our house. Books, crafting supplies (ahem yarn and fabric anyone?), tools, vintage bowls, etc. Eleanore seems to have caught on quickly. Every day when we head outside for the afternoon, she walks around collecting sticks and leaves.

Jason got me a new digital SLR camera for my birthday, a Nikon d50, and I’ve really been trying to grasp all the settings to learn how to take better pictures. I still have a LOT to learn, but I think I’m improving, little by little. Of course, it helps that I have a pretty amazing little model who just happens to live with me. It’s so much fun to see how she enjoys life. Whenever music comes on, she dances and bounces and grins. She loves sharing peaches or bananas with Daddy, and loves to sit by herself with a board book, looking at all the pictures and reading to herself.
