Finished Classy Slip Ups

Finished Classy Slip Ups!

And they are finished! Click on the picture for all the details. I experienced a little drama (see below), but they are finished, and all ready to gift this Christmas. I’m so excited to have a gift already lined up for Christmas; now I just have to hold myself back from giving them to the recipient for her birthday.

My drama: in my fiendish knitting over the past few days, while knitting in bed, I reached back (knitting needle in hand) to reposition myself and CRUNCH.
Crunch

Broken needle. Luckily I had a size 1 metal dpn to finish the socks with, but oh how I hate metal dpns! I know people rave and rave about addis and the Knitpicks Options needles, but no no no metal needles for me. Ick! I would prefer plastic over metal any day! (but really I like bamboo the best)

Speaking of metal dpns, I just so happen to be knitting with some metal dpns right now in size 8 (I don’t have bamboo in that size) and I’m hating it! It’s a project I can’t share about yet, so no pics, but I feel like I’m going to lose my stitches everytime I move, and I’m compensating by knitting too tightly. I guess I need to get some bamboo dpns in the middle sizes. All I have are sock sizes, and then a 10 1/2 for felting.

In case you were wondering (I know you probably weren’t, but anyway), the HSG went fine. There were no blockages, and it wasn’t as awful as I expected it to be.

Get ready, Sock Madness starts Saturday!!

i can commiserate. i accidentally stepped on one of my lantern moon sox stix, and broke it. i don’t know if it’s repairable or not, sigh. my first really nice pair of needles.

the socks look great, though! i’m in holiday headstart CAL (craftalong), and i’m actually on my third gift for christmas. it’s kinda liberating!

I love those socks and the color is beautiful! I might have to get some of that yarn but I’ve never knit socks before. I was checking to see how your HSG went- had that and many others. Hope you’re doing ok. Hang in there, I know it’s hard but it will happen :-)
